Every member of the Teaching
Faculty is not a Teacher. A teacher is a person who teaches, who comes up with
innovative thoughts, who inspires his students towards learning and searching,
who shakes their existing knowledge, who creates new questions and promote
discussion and debate, who creates pride of knowledge among his students, who
enjoys sharing knowledge, who is committed, dedicated and keen to learn more
and more, who is equipped with latest knowledge with clarity,
who talks face to face and eye to eye with understanding of responses of his
students through their face expressions and body language, who is able to
simplify complex issues to be easily understandable, who does not repeat same
lessons every year, who understands why his students are not responding, where
they are stuck, why they are stuck and how they should be motivated and
inspired.
Slide shows with the help of
multimedia in a dark room should not be preferred, however, may be rarely
adequately used. Teaching should be based on promotion of discussion and
debate. Teaching must not be based on dictation and memorization only. Teaching
must promote thinking leading to creative and innovative ideas for qualitative
solutions to the complex problems. A teacher is answerable to himself. A
teacher must be honest, truthful and responsible person. Thus teaching becomes
enjoyable and a source of eternal satisfaction. A teacher must be an ideal role
model of the youth.
